Well, almost seven years after my last post, I’ve decided to move my personal home yet again. Things are going to be ugly for a while as I refresh most of the content and pages. Tumblr was a great, cheap option for hosting my static blog. Even with my custom domain, it was free and … Read more Migration to AWS
So I’ve decided to make some significant changes to my online presence. The first of which is moving away from my self-hosted WordPress solution to Tumblr. I have finished moving over all of the posts and will be transferring the domain name soon. I’ll post more about the transition soon.
Here’s a quick how-to for restoring your grub bootloader when you load a new OS (like Windows) and it overwrites your grub bootloader. Hopefully you can follow this guide and have luck. I finally decided to do some housecleaning on the website. I noticed that the old theme didn’t seem to fully work with the latest version of WordPress so I’ve changed it to something that may or may not be temporary. If you usually visit jbctech.com, you may have noticed that the site was redirected to an advertisement page for the last two days. That’s because I forgot to renew my domain name. I’ve owned jbctech.com for the last 11-12 years and have never let it expire like that. I believe the registrar only has me … Read more jbctech.com outage
I was browsing around the web the other day, and stumbled upon a blog entry from Jesse Ruderman. In this blog entry, he describes one of the reasons he likes the hosting provider DreamHost so much.
